Christina Spicer Named to Board of Directors for Young & Empowered Women

Young & Empowered Women (Y&E) has announced Christina Spicer, co-CEO of the Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, as the nonprofit’s newest board member.

Christina Spicer was elected to the Board of Directors in September 2022

Spicer joins Y&E with more than two decades of experience leading critical youth development initiatives throughout Arizona, most recently with Teach for America. Throughout her career, Spicer has worked on strategic initiative planning and implementation with a variety of nonprofit organizations dedicated to identifying and cultivating young leaders.

“An investment in women is transformative for an entire community, and Y&E is a leader in providing safe spaces for young women and women of color to learn and advance among a group of their supportive peers,” said Spicer. “I’m proud to join an organization combating the very real gender gap in our state.”

“Christina is a prominent and well-respected figure in Arizona’s nonprofit community,” said Founder and CEO Veronica Aguilar. “As Y&E’s membership has grown to historic levels, we will rely on Christina’s expertise to offer expanded professional development and career coaching opportunities for the next generation of rising female leaders.”

Spicer joins the Y&E board on the heels of the organization’s largest cohort inducted to-date. Under her guidance, Y&E continues to offer monthly opportunities for professional development, networking, career coaching, and 1:1 mentorship.
